Boo!

Well, its still 3 weeks until Halloween but apparently we are in full Halloween mode in our neighbourhood. Someone "booed" us, leaving a treat package on our steps and instructions to pass it on to two others. Ho hum. The kids really wanted to Boo Ernie's family so I went out got stuff and made up bag for them. Ernie is a bulldog friend of Simon's who lives down the street from us with two humans. Their names are not important, Ernie is the star. The kids refer to them as Ernie's Mum and Dad. Ernie is an only child and even more spoiled than Simon if that's possible. He is cute and sweet so I totally understand their indulging him. Anyway, the kids insisted the package had a toy for Ernie in it too. So it did.

Last night we watched The Happening. Blah! It was ok but not "terrifying" as I had heard it described. Once the message is that when in the event of natural disaster/alien invasion/zombie infestation what you really have to worry about is other people trying to save themselves. Ok, this movie also had a message about the environment and not pissing off the plants anymore but the other people thing was there too.

As it was clear and dry today we got out in the garden and did some work getting reading for the winter months. Weeds were pulled and killed, the lawn was mowed. Hoses were stashed and spiders webs were swept from the porch. I was mainly supervising due to my painful wrist. Such a disappointment to not be able to crawl amongst the weeds, fighting off frogs and lizards. Yes, frogs and lizards were found (well, one frog and one lizard - both tiny). As was an abandoned snake skins. One of the girls saw the snake (it too was tiny, a tiny grass snake) who had maybe been the skin shedder. I missed that one.

Tomorrow, homeschooling starts. Yikes!
